April 17, 2006
Announcement that the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce and the Trident United Way have agreed to convene a group of community leaders, including physicians, hospital executives, employers and other stakeholders, to discuss the formation of the health council and define its mission and role.
August 2006
A Draft of the CRHC Mission Statement, possible strategic issues, and meeting topics is created.
September 30, 2006
First CRHC meeting. Mission statement is approved and strategic planning is discussed. 111 strategic issues are identified and a survey was sent out to select their top 15.
2007
January 30, 2007
Establish organizing committee and planning task force as well as review regional health council models.
February 21, 2007
Planning task force develops recommendations regarding structure, membership, and funding
March 20, 2007
Planning task force develops action plan.
April 4, 2007
Planning task force completes recommendations.
April 30th, 2007
CRHC Organizing Committee meets to discuss membership, budget, and strategic issues.
June 6, 2007
CRHC Organizing Committee meets to discuss nominating interim board members.
July 2007
Interim Board members are elected. Board committees are established. Strategic and Business planning are discussed.
October 9, 2007
Full council meeting to discuss Organizing Committee recommendations and next steps.
2008
February 2008
ByLaws are established and CRHC becomes a 501(3c) organization.
February 13, 2008
Full Council meeting. Presentation to nominated members.
